““Coach Bowden will bring qualities out of you that impact winning if you let him. He challenged me mentally and physically throughout my time with him. His workouts and coaching style were challenging, creative, and had plenty of competition and toughness involved. Also, they were catered to what was going to translate in the game for me. He’s a real grinder and was always in the building available to support the process of getting better. Had great film available of not just me and my team, but pros and other players to replicate and analyze. If something positive or negative needed to be addressed, Mike didn’t sugar coat it. Gritty coach. I would go to him for advice because I knew it would “be genuine and not just what I want to hear.””

“Workouts in Kansas City with Coach Mike you had to be locked in and ready to go. Had lots of ball handling drills and walk taps. Shooting was important with set shooting, off the dribble , catch n shoot and etc. Floaters and finishing touch was emphasized a lot including high finishes over footers. There is always some type of conditioning at some point to get you fatigued and then finishing the workout strong. The jump rope before and after for 3 minutes.”

“The early morning workouts at UMKC with Coach Bowden were some of the best workouts I had throughout my college career. I really believe he helped me with my confidence, When if comes to Coach Bowden he’s one of the best in the game and his passion for the game is on another level. I went 0-15 from 3pt the season before being with Coach Bowden - with him I was able to shoot 34% for the season (due to confidence and consistency).”

“What makes Coach Mike stand out is his commitment to building smarter basketball players. He has an incredible gift for teaching floor awareness and defensive positioning, helping athletes see the game two steps ahead. It’s rare to find a coach who balances high-intensity training with such a positive, growth-oriented mindset. He doesn't just develop better players; he develops more resilient, competitive athletes.”

"Coach B is hands-down one of the best developmental coaches I’ve encountered. Instead of just running drills, he breaks down the mechanics of every movement, from footwork in the paint to the release on a jump shot. My confidence has soared because I finally understand the 'why' behind the skills, leading to a noticeable jump in my on-court performance and efficiency."
